Maven Rehabilitation

Maven Rehabilitation treats musculoskeletal injuries and movement problems through sports therapy and sports massage for people, alongside veterinary physiotherapy for dogs, cats, horses and other large animals. The practice is based in Montgomery and serves Powys and Mid Wales.

For people, sports therapy covers injury prevention, assessment and rehabilitation. Appointments may be used for day-to-day injuries, recovery after an injury, training support or performance-related concerns. Treatment may include manual therapy, exercise rehabilitation and tailored advice. Sports massage is offered for muscle tension, circulation, recovery and flexibility.

Small animal veterinary physiotherapy is available for dogs and cats with orthopaedic issues, neurological conditions, injury rehabilitation, post-surgical rehabilitation, chronic pain management and age-related mobility needs. Named conditions include intervertebral disc disease, degenerative myelopathy, fibrocartilaginous embolism, nerve root or peripheral nerve injuries, vestibular disease recovery, tendonitis, ligament sprains, muscle strains, osteoarthritis, elbow and hip dysplasia, cranial cruciate ligament injuries, patellar luxation and fracture rehabilitation.

Small animal sessions typically include discussion of your pet's medical history, assessment of movement and musculoskeletal health, treatment based on the findings, a home exercise plan and a report. Treatments may include manual therapies and electrotherapy such as laser, PEMF, ultrasound or TENS where needed.

Large animal veterinary physiotherapy is offered for horses and other large animals. Sessions include orthopaedic and neurological assessment, movement evaluation, and assessment of muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons and hoof balance. Mobile appointments are available for equine and farm clients. Veterinary consent is required by law in cases of injury or where an animal is under current veterinary supervision.
