The Forbury Clinic

The Forbury Clinic provides private healthcare in Reading, with locations on Craven Road and Kendrick Road. Its clinical services cover Private GP and General Health, blood tests, cancer screening, ECG heart checks, audiology, ENT, ophthalmology, dermatology, urology, ultrasound, coloproctology and hernia surgery, and genetic testing.

Patients can use the clinic for health checks and screening, including a Forbury Health Check or MOT with an optional ECG add-on, cancer screening planned around individual risk, and blood test panels. Genetic testing is offered as a consultant-led service from home.

Cardiac screening includes a resting 12 lead ECG carried out in clinic. The ECG Heart Check includes a brief pre-test chat and medical history, blood pressure and pulse checks, ECG recording, and a Consultant Cardiologist interpretation with a signed report. It can be used as a stand-alone assessment or alongside a health check, and may be considered for palpitations, chest tightness, breathlessness, dizziness, reduced exercise tolerance, family history of heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, intensive training, smoking or vaping, occupational screening or insurance paperwork, or baseline monitoring before some medicines. An ECG records a single moment in time and does not rule out every heart condition.

Follow-up after an ECG can include review with a Private GP, blood tests, echocardiography, Holter monitoring, an event recorder, or referral to a Consultant Cardiologist if specialist input is needed. Results can be shared with a patient's NHS or private GP with consent.

The clinic also provides support and treatment for Functional Neurological Disorders. The FND service covers symptoms such as tremors, weakness, seizures, and difficulties with movement and speech where there is no structural damage to the brain. Care may include assessment, a personalised treatment plan, neurological rehabilitation, psychological support and lifestyle modifications.
