About Link Chiro
Link Chiro is a chiropractic clinic in Torquay, with appointments available to book on this page. The clinic sees patients for musculoskeletal pain and injury, including headaches and migraines, neck pain, back pain, sciatica, shoulder pain, sports injuries, osteoarthritis and joint pain.
New patients have an Initial Consultation & Examination. This includes a medical history, questions about your complaint and wider medical history, and a physical examination looking at movement, joints, muscles, nerves and tendons. The chiropractor then explains the diagnosis and discusses a management plan. Treatment may be offered during the appointment if the chiropractor considers it safe and appropriate.
Standard Treatment at Link Chiro can involve spinal manipulation or adjustments, massage, fascia release, trigger point therapy, dry needling or acupuncture, joint manipulation or mobilisation, sports taping, K-taping, lifestyle advice and exercise prescription. Exercises may include stretching, mobility work or rehabilitation and strengthening exercises. Return to sport advice and protocols may also be used for sports injuries.
The clinic describes care for headaches related to dysfunction and pain from the neck, shoulders or jaw, with treatment that may include soft tissue release, joint mobilisation and manipulation, plus exercise and lifestyle advice. Neck pain seen at the clinic includes facet joint pain, cervical myofascial pain, cervical disc pain or herniation, and cervical spondylosis. Low back pain presentations include facet joint pain, myofascial pain, disc injury or disc pain, and sacroiliac joint pain or dysfunction.
Sciatica, also described as lumbar radicular pain, is assessed according to its possible cause, such as disc herniation, bulge or protrusion, stenosis, lumbar degenerative disc disease, piriformis syndrome or deep gluteal pain syndrome. Shoulder pain care commonly relates to rotator cuff irritation or injury, muscle restriction, tension and reduced mobility, with management that may include rehabilitation exercises and hands-on treatment.
A Reactivated Patient/ New Issue appointment is used if you have not attended the clinic for more than 12 months, or if you have a new complaint or injury that needs assessment. This involves a re-examination, a report of findings and treatment, with a new consent form before proceeding.
