Belvoir Osteopathy

Belvoir Osteopathy provides osteopathic assessment and treatment for musculoskeletal pain and mobility problems in Melton Mowbray. Care is delivered by Joanna, who graduated from Swansea University with a First Class Master’s Degree in Osteopathy and is registered with the General Osteopathic Council.

The clinic works with back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, headaches, hand, elbow and arm pain, hip, knee and ankle pain, sciatica, arthritis pain, joint pains and general aches and pains. Its information also refers to rotator cuff problems, frozen shoulder, osteoarthritis, shoulder instability, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, strained muscles, ligament sprains and plantar fasciitis.

Osteopathic treatment may involve joint mobilisation and manipulation, hands-on guided stretching and soft tissue massage. The clinic also uses tailored exercise plans, strengthening and stretching exercises, and advice on posture and everyday movement where relevant to the assessment.

For lower back pain, the clinic refers to exercise programmes designed around diagnosis, age, fitness level and lifestyle. For neck pain and some headaches, it refers to muscular tension, stiffness in the neck and upper back, posture, desk-based work, driving and stress as possible contributing factors. For shoulder pain, assessment may include the neck, upper back and shoulder blade area if these are thought to be contributing.

Appointment types include a first appointment, follow-up appointment and extended follow-up appointment. A telephone consultation is available for people who are unsure whether osteopathy is suitable for them.
