Affinity Bodyworks is in Chippenham. Sarah Jones provides soft tissue therapy, remedial massage and sports massage for pain and injury. Care can include assessment, hands-on treatment, massage and individualised rehab plans.

Soft tissue therapy covers assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of minor and chronic musculoskeletal injuries and pain. Clinical areas include back pain, non-specific lower back pain, joint pain, arthritis, headaches and migraines. Sarah also works with neck and shoulder pain, overloading injuries, runner's knee, ITB syndrome and frozen shoulder. Other areas include tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, tendonitis, tendinopathy, muscle strains and plantar fasciitis.

Appointments are also offered for ME, CFS, fibromyalgia and degenerative conditions such as Parkinson's. They can cover scar tissue comfort, stress, anxiety, depression and chronic pain management. Women's health covers pregnancy massage and hormonal related changes, including musculoskeletal syndrome of menopause.

Children's and adolescent care includes growth-related injuries and growing pains in active young people. Common issues include heel pain, knee pain, hamstring pain, lower back pain, elbow pain and shoulder pain. Sarah says these injuries need a different approach from adult treatment. She has completed further training for this population.

Pregnancy massage is offered from conception to full term. It can cover pelvic girdle pain, lower back pain, tight shoulders and general pregnancy aches. Massage for labour teaches partner massage techniques for use during labour. Pregnancy positioning may include seated treatment or a Belloost pregnancy cushion. Treatment areas can include the back, neck, face, shoulders, legs, feet, arms, hands and bump.

Gait analysis is available for runners and walkers. It uses outdoor video at a nearby park, followed by slow-motion review in clinic. The appointment may include clinic assessment, strength advice, adaptations and a written report. Relaxation services include massage, facial massage, hot stone massage and Reiki. Hot stone massage uses warmed basalt stones with oils. Reiki is also offered, and Sarah is a level 3 Reiki Master. Kinesiology taping is available.

Sarah is a Level 5 Sports and Soft Tissue Therapist. She also lists gym instructor and injury rehabilitation training, Mental Health First Aid accreditation and gait analysis. She has collaborated on, written and teaches pregnancy massage courses for other therapists. The practice also runs a regular menopause cafe. Guest speakers can include a nutritionist, pelvic health physiotherapist and menopause specialist nurse.
