Alexia Dempsey RD at Nurture Therapies provides online nutrition and therapy services, with Initial Assessment and follow-up appointments available. Her practice covers dietetics, health and wellbeing coaching, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, women’s health nutrition, eating disorders and disordered eating.

Alexia is a registered dietitian, qualified CBT therapist and PIC certified health and wellbeing coach. She has worked for over 20 years in NHS and private healthcare services, including child and adolescent services and adult services. Her dietetic work includes supporting people with their relationship with food, eating patterns and behaviours, dietary requirements and medical needs.

Her specialist areas include women’s health, midlife health, perimenopause and menopause, hormonal wellbeing, nutrition for healthy ageing, pre-conception, fertility and pregnancy nutrition. She has also worked in gastroenterology services, and dietetic support can include digestive health and gut wellbeing, as well as nutrition support for conditions such as diabetes, IBS, high cholesterol and PCOS.

Nurture Therapies also works with eating disorders and disordered eating, including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder and Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. Appointments may include discussion of medical background, psychological history, current concerns, goals, resources, a short term plan, medical monitoring where relevant, and a summary to a GP or consultant where required.

Alexia’s therapy training includes a master’s degree in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, with specialist training in CBT, Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Follow-up care can include continuing goal setting, psychoeducation, meal planning and work on barriers to change.
