Balance Pelvic Health
About Balance Pelvic Health
Harriet Peatman provides pelvic health and women’s health physiotherapy at Balance Pelvic Health in Frome. She treats pelvic floor dysfunction, including pelvic pain, urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse, using simple management strategies, individualised exercise programmes and other treatment modalities.
Her services include first appointments for pelvic health, postnatal MOTs, pelvic girdle pain in pregnancy, musculoskeletal problems only, and follow-up physiotherapy appointments. She has a particular interest in postnatal checks for mums and in helping women return to exercise after birth.
Conditions she works with include diastasis rectus abdominus, birth trauma and perineal tears, pre- and post-gynaecological surgery, bowel dysfunction and constipation, painful sex, vaginismus, vulvodynia, pain associated with endometriosis, pudendal neuralgia, coccyx pain, and pelvic floor dysfunction associated with peri and post-menopausal symptoms.
A postnatal Mummy Health Check includes a detailed history, screening for pelvic organ prolapse, discussion of bladder and bowel problems, discussion of any problems with intercourse, pelvic floor muscle assessment, and a tummy muscle check for separation. Treatment may include advice and strategies for bladder, bowel, prolapse or intercourse concerns, teaching coordinated pelvic floor exercises, and an individualised functional exercise programme based on your goals.
Harriet qualified with a Physiotherapy degree from King’s College London over 15 years ago and also has a BSc in Medical Science. Her professional accreditations include Health Care Professional Council registration, Chartered Society of Physiotherapy membership and Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy membership. Free parking is available at the clinic location.
