The Foot Lab - Glossop

Initial Podiatry Appointment | Nail and Skin Issues is for new patients, or for patients who have not attended for more than six months, with nail and skin foot concerns. The Foot Lab - Glossop provides podiatry and chiropody care for foot and lower limb problems, including troublesome nails, corns, hard skin, cracked heels, verrucae and fungal infections.

New patient appointments include foot health assessment, neurological and vascular checks, medical history, discussion of foot problems, advice and podiatry or chiropody treatment where appropriate. Follow up podiatry appointments are available for nail and skin issues, including ongoing care for nails, hard skin, cracked heels, corns, callus, fungal infections and verrucae.

The clinic provides diabetic and vascular foot health screening. This includes podiatry treatment with assessment of blood supply and nerve supply to the feet and lower limbs, with risk areas identified and advice and education given for diabetic foot health.

Musculoskeletal care includes an Initial Musculoskeletal Consultation with Gait Analysis and a Children's Pain Clinic & Biomechanical Assessment. The clinic describes biomechanical assessment for back, hip, knee, ankle or foot pain and lower limb muscle injuries. Assessment may include examination of the lower limb and foot, with advice and a treatment programme that may include stretching, strengthening and insoles.

Ingrown toenail care includes an Initial Ingrown Toenail Appointment for new patients and nail surgery can be discussed after assessment for suitability. Verruca care includes initial consultation for new patients and follow up appointments for existing patients.

The Foot Lab is an HCPC registered podiatry and chiropody clinic. Lead podiatrist and owner Gemma Hodgson qualified from the University of Salford with a 1st Class BSc (Hons) Podiatry, and the clinic says its podiatrists have experience in NHS and private sector care.
