About Dr Sam Barke

Dr Sam Barke helps patients with sports medicine concerns, with a specific interest in adolescent athletes and concussion management. His work includes the management of head injuries in amateur sport and in children.

He is Head of Sports Medicine at Meliora Medical, sits on the board for the Centre of Youth Sports Medicine and is a member of the UK Concussion Working Group. He has experience in amateur and elite sporting environments, including rugby, athletics, weightlifting and triathlon settings.

Dr Barke trained at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London. He undertook surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedics, worked in young adult hip surgery for over a decade, and has further qualifications in sports medicine and pre-hospital care.
