Clinical Ear Care by Carole

Clinical Ear Care by Carole is in Colchester, with two sites. It provides clinical ear wax removal for blocked ears, ear pressure, muffled hearing, popping ears, tinnitus, dizziness, headaches, aching jaw, persistent cough, and hearing aids that whistle or underperform.

Carole is an experienced clinician specialising in ear wax removal. She has over 20 years of nursing experience in acute and community settings. She also has Enhanced DBS certification and is fully insured.

Care is available through clinic sessions and home appointments. The bookable clinic service shown here is for the Bounstead Road clinic only.

Microsuction is Carole's first-line treatment preference for ear wax removal. It uses a narrow tube connected to suction equipment to remove wax and debris. A medical grade endoscope is used to view and magnify the ear canal during treatment.

Microsuction may also be used for foreign body removal and for dead skin or skin plugs in the ear canal. The patient needs to remain relatively still during the procedure.

Irrigation is also covered. It uses a regulated stream of water to dislodge wax blockages. It is not used for perforated eardrums, active infection, mastoid cavity, open ear canal abrasions, cleft palate, or foreign body removal. Caution is advised with troublesome vertigo or previous ear surgery.
