Copford Physiotherapy and PhysioNatal

Copford Physiotherapy and PhysioNatal is a single-clinic physiotherapy practice in Copford, just west of Colchester. The clinic provides physiotherapy, women's health physiotherapy, scar therapy, visceral manipulation and postnatal rehabilitation for patients across Colchester, Essex and the surrounding areas.

The practice is run by Tanya, who has over 20 years of clinical experience. Her training includes physiotherapy, visceral manipulation, scar therapy and Somatic Experiencing. She has studied Visceral Manipulation through the Barral Institute since 2013 and is a teaching assistant for its UK faculty.

Clinical areas include ongoing or recurrent pain, symptoms that have not responded to previous treatment, problems after pregnancy, birth or surgery, scar-related restrictions or discomfort, pelvic floor symptoms and abdominal symptoms. The clinic sees men and women with musculoskeletal pain, injuries, scar-related problems and persistent symptoms.

Postnatal care includes Mummy MOT® assessments, C-section recovery and postnatal rehabilitation. A Mummy MOT® may include assessment of the abdominal muscles, pelvic floor, posture, breathing, movement patterns and current symptoms. For pelvic floor concerns, an internal examination may be discussed, but it is optional and carried out only with informed consent.

Treatment may combine physiotherapy with scar therapy, visceral manipulation, movement advice, rehabilitation and Somatic Experiencing where appropriate. The clinic also offers a brief telephone or video consultation for people who want to discuss symptoms, treatment approach or which appointment may be suitable before arranging care. A GP or consultant referral is not required for assessment.

The clinic is wheelchair accessible and has a waiting room and toilet facilities. Babies may be brought to appointments if childcare is not available.
