James David Hearing Care

James David Hearing Care is for people who need private ear and hearing care, including ear wax removal, hearing tests, hearing aids and custom hearing protection. The practice is a family-run, independent hearing clinic in the North East, with clinics in Darlington, Spennymoor, Durham and Hartlepool, as well as home visit appointments.

Ear wax removal is provided using a vacuum method rather than syringing or water irrigation. Hearing tests can include Pure Tone Audiometry, Tympanometry, Acoustic Reflex testing, speech-in-noise testing and Real Ear Measurements, with other tests available on request.

The hearing aid service includes fitting using Real Ear Measurements. The practice supplies hearing aids from major manufacturers named by the clinic, including Phonak, Starkey, Widex, Signia, Oticon and GN Resound. It also provides aftercare for the lifetime of the hearing aid.

Custom hearing protection is available for people who need ear protection for music, swimming, shooting or noisy work environments. The practice also covers ear health information, hearing loss and tinnitus, and sees people who are noticing changes in hearing or who already use hearing aids but have difficulty in noisy places.
