Dr Sachin Khambadkone

Dr Sachin Khambadkone sees babies, children and adolescents with heart murmurs, palpitations, chest pain, syncope and fainting. He also manages congenital and acquired heart disease. His practice includes paediatric and adolescent cardiology, interventional cardiology and transition care.

He uses advanced echocardiography, including transoesophageal, 3D transthoracic and transoesophageal imaging, tissue Doppler and strain imaging. He also uses intra-operative epicardial and transoesophageal echocardiography to support surgical decision-making. He has an interest in 3D modelling for planning treatment and explaining complex conditions to young people and families.

His catheter work includes balloon angioplasty, device closure of holes in the heart, stent angioplasty and valve implantation. He has worked with percutaneous pulmonary valve implantation and catheter closure of PDA in premature babies. At Great Ormond Street Hospital, he leads adolescent cardiac services and transition care.
