Ear wax care

Ear wax care is for adults and children who need private ear wax removal, an ear health check or a hearing consultation. The practice provides microsuction ear wax removal in clinic, including visits for one ear, both ears and children under 12.

Care may include an ear health check, consultation with the clinical team and a patient referral report. Before wax removal, clinicians may ask about your general ear health and symptoms such as muffled hearing, blocked ears, pain or other discomfort, then check the ear canal and eardrum using an otoscope or a small microscope with a light.

The clinicians check for issues such as impacted wax, inflammation, irritation or possible infection before deciding how to proceed. They may recommend olive oil drops or spray before treatment if wax is hard or impacted. If signs of irritation or infection are seen, the procedure may be postponed and you may be advised to have this treated first.

The practice also offers private hearing consultations and full audiology consultations. Its clinical team includes trained clinicians and NHS trained audiologists.
