Routine podiatry at Elland Foot Clinic is for everyday foot and nail care, including corns, callus, skin and nail problems, and painful feet. The clinic also offers foot pain appointments, ingrown toenail assessments and verruca assessments.

Care is provided by Nick Mainds, BSc (Hons) Podiatry, MRCPOD, director and podiatrist. He gained his podiatry degree in 2014 and has NHS and private clinical experience, including work with complex foot conditions.

At a first appointment, the clinic takes a medical history covering the current foot problem, general health, medication, activity level and occupation. The foot examination may include the skin and nails, foot shape and structure, circulation and nerve sensation testing, and footwear assessment. Treatment may be given on the day, with discussion of self-care, follow-up appointments, further tests or referral where needed.

The clinic states that it treats diabetic people, older adults, children with problems such as ingrown toenails or stubborn verrucas, sports patients and active children and adults, including people who hike or take part in sport. The clinic says appointments are often available in the same week.
