Emma Ceely

Emma Ceely provides osteopathy for aches and pains affecting muscles and joints, including headaches, sports injury related pain, postural problems, back and neck pain, arthritis and wear and tear related discomfort. Treatment is hands-on and may include soft tissue techniques, articulation, cranial osteopathy, stretching, massage, manipulation, exercise prescription and advice on posture, movement and lifestyle.

Her osteopathic care covers adults, children and teenagers, babies and mothers. For children and teenagers, appointments can assess aches and pains linked with sport, posture or carrying a heavy school bag, with a suitable adult present during treatment. For babies, paediatric osteopathic assessment includes looking for developmental issues and referring on where needed. She also treats aches and pains associated with pregnancy, carrying and feeding a new baby, and the period after birth.

Emma has a particular interest in older adults. Part of her Master’s degree in Osteopathy focused on treating older people, and her work includes patients in their 80s and 90s. She also sees people with pain linked to arthritis or wear and tear, working directly with affected and surrounding joints, mobility and muscle tension where appropriate.

Emma graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in London in 1996, now known as the Health Sciences University. She worked in Romford, Essex as a partner in an established practice for more than 20 years, and spent several years teaching and examining undergraduate osteopathic students at major osteopathic schools. Her qualifications are BSc(Hons)Ost, MSc Ost, PGCert, FHEA and MSCCO.

She is registered with the General Osteopathic Council, registration number 2829, and is a member of the Institute of Osteopathy. She is also registered as a member of the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy, is part way through the SCC pathway, and has completed several courses in paediatric osteopathy. Emma practises in Wincanton, and there is no need to see a doctor before consulting an osteopath.
