Emsworth Osteopaths

Emsworth Osteopaths provides osteopathic care for people of all ages, including babies, children, teens, adults and older people. The practice offers assessment and hands-on treatment for physical and musculoskeletal complaints, with clinical areas including back pain, sciatica, neck pain, headaches, migraine prevention, tendon pain, tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, hip, knee and ankle pain, plantar fasciitis, sports injuries, arthritis, muscle spasm, fibromyalgia, digestive problems, circulation problems and difficulty relaxing.

Care is provided by Rebecca Butterfield, BOst, Registered Osteopath. Her specialism is treating infants and children, and she has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Paediatric Osteopathy. She also works in women's health osteopathy, including pelvic health, pregnancy and postnatal care, with training in pelvic floor rehabilitation, abdominal muscle rehabilitation and Mummy MOT practice.

Treatments at the practice include cranial osteopathy, articulation to help joints move, massage for muscle tension, acupuncture for pain, self-help advice and exercises. Rebecca has postgraduate training in acupuncture, cranial osteopathy, treating babies and treating expectant mothers. Her stated clinical interests include the effect of stress on the body, neck pain and headaches.

For women's health, the practice covers pelvic health, back pain, bladder issues, diastasis recti and pelvic floor health during pregnancy, after birth and at other stages of life. Baby and child osteopathy is also offered, with a gentle approach for babies.

A consultation can include questions about medical history, posture observation, clinical tests such as blood pressure, muscle strength and reflexes, examination of joint movement, muscle tension and nerve health, orthopaedic tests, diagnosis and explanation, and discussion of a treatment and management plan. Rebecca is trained to identify cases that may need referral for medical care.
