The Community Chiropractic Clinic

The Community Chiropractic Clinic works from two sites in Newport and Pontypool, providing hands-on chiropractic care for musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. It sees people with back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, joint pain, sciatica, trapped nerve pain, herniated discs, headaches arising from the neck, osteoarthritis joint pain, hip pain, knee pain, foot pain, heel pain, jaw pain and general aches and pains.

A first chiropractic consultation includes a medical history, questions about what makes symptoms better or worse, and a physical examination to assess range of movement. The clinic may also carry out orthopaedic tests, red flag checks, blood pressure checks and a neurological examination where needed, before giving a diagnosis and plan of management. Under 18s can be seen for chiropractic consultation.

Treatment may include soft tissue massage, adjustments, activator techniques, blocks, taping, cupping, joint mobilisations, rehabilitation, patient education and home exercises. The clinic also offers chiropractic reassessment and follow-up treatment, sports massage, physiotherapy assessment, physiotherapy follow-up treatment, follow-up rehab and injury assessment.

The practice says it can usually offer an appointment within 48 hours, with emergency appointments available inside that timeframe. Its clinicians give advice on self-management, including education and lifestyle advice for some headache, migraine prevention and low back pain presentations.

The chiropractors are regulated by the General Chiropractic Council, the UK regulator for chiropractors. Both clinic sites have free parking and lift access.
