Finely Tuned Physiotherapy

Finely Tuned Physiotherapy is a physiotherapy and sports injury clinic in Wickford. It treats sports injuries, wider musculoskeletal problems and neurological conditions, with care for patients from age 4 to 104. Bookable care includes initial assessment and follow-up physiotherapy with consultant or senior physiotherapists, sports massage, 1:1 Clinical Pilates, dynamic gait scanning, dynamic foot scanning with running analysis, and shockwave therapy.

A first physiotherapy appointment includes an assessment and treatment. The assessment covers medical history, current medication, the history of the condition, range of movement, movements that reproduce pain, and special tests for structures such as ligaments and cartilage. Treatment may include joint mobilisation, joint manipulation, massage and soft tissue techniques, neural mobilisation, ultrasound, acupuncture, taping or strapping, exercise programmes, postural training, Clinical Pilates, gait analysis and gait re-education.

The clinic offers biomechanical and movement analysis, including a dedicated gait analysis room and appointments for dynamic gait scan without orthotics and dynamic foot scan with running analysis. Video gait analysis may be used as part of rehabilitation.

Shockwave therapy is offered, including radial shockwave and focused shockwave, with consultant physiotherapist appointments available. The clinic also describes pre joint replacement treatment, with assessment of weaknesses, biomechanical issues such as gait and posture, and rehabilitation packages that may involve shockwave therapy.

The clinical team includes chartered physiotherapists and sports therapists. The clinic has treatment rooms, a gait analysis room and a separate rehabilitation room, so appointments are delivered in person at the Wickford clinic.
