First Consult Physio

First Consult Physio Ltd works from its Colchester clinic and provides physiotherapy appointments for injuries, pain, movement restriction and continued care after an initial assessment. Its bookable appointments are First Physiotherapy Consultation and Treatment, for assessment and treatment at a first visit, and Follow up Treatment sessions, for ongoing treatment sessions.

Assessment includes medical history, range of motion, strength and functional restrictions. Treatment areas named by the practice include assessment and diagnosis, treatment and therapy, continued care, massages, manual therapy, sports massage therapy, electrotherapy, strength and conditioning, biomechanical assessment, and sports and therapy taping.

Manual therapy includes hands-on techniques such as spinal and joint manipulations. Sports massage therapy is offered for soft tissue aches, pain and injuries linked with recreational activity. Electrotherapy may include ultrasound, electrical stimulation and TENS as adjunct treatment options. Strength and conditioning uses individualised exercise routines for strength, flexibility, balance and endurance.

Biomechanical assessment looks at gait, posture, range of motion and muscle strength during physical activity. Sports and therapy taping uses adhesive tape to support muscles, joints and ligaments, with techniques including stabilisation, compression and facilitation.

Care is provided by Isaac Christopher, Director and Physiotherapist. He qualified as a physiotherapist in 1999, has over 25 years of physiotherapy experience, and has focused on hands-on manual therapy with spinal and joint manipulations. His background includes hospital work, busy London clinics, and work with athletes in rugby, cycling, running and MMA.

Consultations are available in person at the Colchester clinic. Weekend and evening consultations are available by request.
