Fleet Physiotherapy

In Fleet, this clinic provides physiotherapy for pain, disability, injury and illness affecting muscles, bones, ligaments, tendons and nerves. Appointments include initial assessment for history taking, examination and diagnosis, and follow-up physiotherapy for ongoing treatment, reassessment and exercise progression.

Clinical services include joint mobilisations and soft tissue treatments, manual therapy, strengthening exercises, stretching exercises, taping and bracing, kinesiotaping, sports taping, electrotherapy, gait analysis, advice and education. Named treatment areas include back pain treatment, trapped nerve treatment, arthritic pain treatment, pain relief therapy and sports injuries.

Taping may involve elastic adhesive tape, also known as Kinesiotape, or rigid sports tape. It is used for pain relief, support, reducing swelling and rehabilitation, and may be applied to support injured tissues or joints or to help re-educate posture.

Exercise work includes assessment of movement patterns and muscle strength, followed by strengthening or stretching exercises where appropriate. Programmes may take account of personal interests and sports, and the physiotherapists can liaise with exercise class instructors or personal trainers if the patient wishes.

Care is delivered by Chartered Physiotherapists at the clinic. Appointments are available six days a week, including late evening appointments on Mondays and Thursdays, early evening appointments on Tuesdays, and Saturday appointments. A GP referral is not needed for self-funded physiotherapy, although some medical insurers may require prior authorisation, a triage call or a GP referral. The clinic works with insurers including BUPA, Aviva, Simply Health, AXA, Nuffield Fusion, Cigna and WPA, and does not accept Vitality insurance.
