About Footprints podiatry
Footprints Podiatry provides bookable podiatry appointments in Glasgow, including its Muirend clinic, for foot and lower-limb problems. New Patient appointments are for people attending for the first time, or existing patients who have not visited for two years. This appointment includes assessment of the feet, review of medical history and current medication, a treatment plan, and any relevant treatment or assessments on the day.
Routine and problem foot care includes Full Podiatry, Simple Nail Cut, Ingrown toe nails and Verruca appointments. Full Podiatry covers nail cutting, hard skin, corns, cracked heels, dry skin and hard skin calluses, plus thick nails and fungal nails. Ingrown toenail care may include treatment of the painful nail, advice on nail care, ongoing nail management, or consultation for nail surgery where the nail is more persistent or severe.
The practice also offers Diabetes Assessment appointments, checking the feet and tissues, blood flow, pulses, tissue viability and innervation. Verruca care can include debriding, cryotherapy and different medicaments, depending on the size and location of the verruca.
Biomechanical care is available through New Patient Bio-Mechanic Assessment and Bio-mechanical Assessment appointments. The practice assesses lower-limb pain and injuries, including plantar fasciitis, shin splints, heel pain, Achilles pain, neuroma, arthritis, sports and overuse injuries, knee pain and general foot pain. Treatment planning may involve specific exercises, orthotics, manual therapies, myofascial release and low-level laser therapy, with return to sport and activity plans also offered.
Other treatments include Laser, Low Level Laser Therapy, acupuncture and medical pedicure. Low Level Laser Therapy is used for conditions or injuries involving muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints. Acupuncture is offered for aches and pains using fine needles at points on the feet and legs. Medical pedicure includes a full pedicure with paraffin wax treatment, foot rub and optional gel nails.
For patients unable to come into clinic, Footprints Podiatry offers home visits on Wednesdays. The clinics are within close reach of bus and train links, with parking nearby.
