Great Gait

Great Gait LTD's clinicians provide orthotic, prosthetic, musculoskeletal, rehabilitative and foot health care. The practice works with people who need assessment and treatment for foot pain, gait problems, foot and ankle rehabilitation needs, tendon-related injuries, neurological bracing requirements and prosthetic support.

Services include custom orthotics, gait analysis, foot health, shockwave therapy, foot and ankle rehabilitation, prosthetics, APOS Therapy, acupuncture, specialist bracing, neurological bracing, medicolegal work and case managed rehabilitation. Care is provided from clinics in Childwall, Liverpool and Wirral.

Neurological orthotics care includes physical assessment and comprehensive gait analysis before discussion of suitable AFO, KAFO and neurological suit options with the patient and their support team. Custom options named by the practice include Neuroswing, Triple Action, 3D printed AFOs, Turtle Braces, PDE Spring AFOs, silicone AFOs, SMO/DAFO, Neuroswing KAFOs, carbon fibre KAFOs, stance control KAFOs, AGILIK KAFOs and metal calipers. Lycra solutions and the MOLLII neurological suit from Ottobock are also offered.

Shockwave therapy is offered for Achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, Morton's neuroma, patella tendinopathy, peroneal tendinopathy, hip bursitis, tennis elbow and shin splints, also described as medial tibial stress syndrome. The clinic uses a Storz shockwave device.

The practice provides the Cheshire and Mersey Prosthetics, CHAMPS, service, with prosthetic limbs customised for the individual. Great Gait also works with case managers, orthopaedic consultants, neurological specialists and physiotherapists, and accepts self-referred patients. Patients are involved in decision-making, with time to discuss needs and concerns.
