GroHair Trichology Clinic is for people seeking private trichology consultations for hair loss, hair thinning, increased shedding and persistent scalp concerns. The bookable appointments include Initial Consultation, Follow-Up appointment and Online Consultation, with in-person care available in Hull and Stockton-on-Tees.

Consultations focus on listening to the concern, diagnosing the issue and investigating possible causes so that an appropriate treatment plan can be arranged. The clinic looks at hair and scalp health, including how the hair grows and sheds, as many hair loss problems are linked to the hair cycle.

The clinic covers forms of hair loss including androgenetic alopecia, also called male or female pattern hair loss, telogen effluvium, alopecia areata, alopecia totalis and alopecia universalis. It also advises on traction alopecia, trichotillomania or trichotillosis, cicatricial or scarring alopecia, poor hair quality and hair shaft disorders.

Scalp conditions covered include dandruff, also called pityriasis capitis, seborrhoeic dermatitis, psoriasis, pityriasis amiantacea, contact or irritant dermatitis and eczema. The clinic also refers to scarring alopecias such as lichen planopilaris, frontal fibrosing alopecia, Graham Little syndrome, pseudopelade of Brocq, discoid lupus erythematosus, central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia, folliculitis decalvans and dissecting cellulitis.

Care is provided by Angie Stoker AIT, CiT, WTS, a Clinical Trichologist and associate member of the Institute of Trichologists. Her work is focused on hair and scalp conditions, with trichology covering the scientific study of the hair and scalp in health and disease, including hair and scalp structure and function, related disorders, anatomy and physiology, chemistry, biochemistry, genetics and nutrition.
