Helen Ferneyhough Colonic Therapist operates from two sites in Northampton: Helen Ferneyhough Colonic Therapist and The Northampton Colonic Clinic. The practice provides colonic irrigation and digestive wellbeing appointments for people with concerns such as bloating, excess gas, constipation, IBS symptoms, SIBO and other gut issues.

Services include colonic irrigation, GLP-1 colonics, abdominal massage, allergy and intolerance testing, parasite testing and specific IBS courses. Abdominal massage is offered for people who cannot have, or do not want, a colonic. The clinic also provides Gut Heaven products.

At a first colonic appointment, the clinic carries out a consultation, uses a health form, and discusses the reason for the appointment, including hydration, digestion and other habits where relevant. Colonic irrigation is carried out using body-temperature, pre-filtered water with gravity pressure. Tubes and speculums are disposable and opened from sealed packs before the treatment.

The therapy team includes Helen Ferneyhough and Tracey Dell. Helen trained with the Association of Registered Colon Hydrotherapists and has a nursing background in learning disability. Tracey is an Advanced Colonic Therapist trained with I-ACT and founded The Northampton Colonic Clinic. Across the team, stated clinical interests and service areas include colonic health, digestive wellbeing, IBS symptoms, digestive issues and detox regimes.

Appointments are offered in person. Helen offers weekday, evening and weekend appointments, while Tracey works Monday to Friday and continues to see existing clients only. The clinic treats men and women.

The clinic states that it cannot administer colonics to people under 16, or to people with certain health issues including Crohn's disease, diverticulitis, uncontrolled high or low blood pressure, bleeding from the bottom, recent childbirth, recent surgery, anal fissures, recent bowel surgery, kidney disease and other conditions that may need discussion before booking.
