The clinicians at Juno Clinic provide adult ADHD assessment and treatment in Manchester. Care includes mental health screening, face-to-face ADHD assessment, post-diagnosis support and consideration of ADHD medication after in-person assessment and baseline checks.

Screening can be carried out in person or by video call. It may include a preliminary discussion with a trained mental health professional, questions about mood, anxiety, sleep and day-to-day functioning, and a clinical interview. Cognitive assessments may also be used where there are concerns about memory, attention or cognitive functioning, alongside review of medical history, medication use and lifestyle factors.

The ADHD assessment is carried out in person and follows NICE guidelines. Juno Clinic says its assessment includes a full medical and developmental history, a clinical interview about attention, hyperactivity and impulsivity, a psychiatric history, a mental state examination, and observations from the clinician and others involved in your life. Information may also be gathered from your GP. A detailed report is provided after assessment.

After assessment, findings are discussed with a multi-disciplinary team before an outcome meeting. The clinic can discuss support, information and treatment options, and offers a monthly group post-diagnosis support session using a coaching approach to discuss challenges, strategies and goals for people who have recently been diagnosed.

For ongoing ADHD treatment, medication can be considered after you have been assessed in person and baseline observations have been taken. Juno Clinic also states that it may validate reports from other providers where the diagnosis was made in person by an experienced diagnostician mental health professional, such as a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse, and the report is comprehensive.
