LEWis BRAND Orthotics @ Back into Action

LEWis Brand Orthotics treats foot, ankle, knee, hip and back pain, walking difficulties, trips, balance issues, reduced mobility, and lower body joint instability or weakness after injury or illness. Its orthotic work covers musculoskeletal, neurological and acquired conditions, including cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, post-surgical complications and stroke-related mobility challenges.

Assessment includes biomechanical review of how the body moves, including alignment, balance, strength and function from the feet to the spine. The practice provides orthoses designed to support, align or improve function, mainly for the feet, ankles and lower limbs. Services include assessments for insoles, footwear, ankle bracing, AFOs for foot drop and neurological conditions, knee bracing, KAFOs, leg length discrepancy, Lycra garments, pectus, helmets, spinal bracing, Turtle braces, upper limb orthoses and paediatric orthotics. Second opinion and review appointments are also available.

Orthotic options include foot orthotics, bespoke footwear, ankle foot orthoses, knee braces and knee ankle foot orthoses. Devices are individually designed and fitted. Footwear assessment is part of the practice's work, supported by Laura's additional training in footwear design and construction with lecturers from Cordwainers College, London.

Care is provided by Laura, a Clinical Specialist Orthotist with over 15 years of professional practice. She graduated from the National Centre for Training and Education in Prosthetics and Orthotics at Strathclyde University, Glasgow in 2010, then began her career as a dual practitioner in prosthetics and orthotics at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, before specialising exclusively in orthotics. Her clinical experience includes paediatric and neurological orthotic care, with work in specialist multidisciplinary clinics across East Anglia, the South Coast and London.

The paediatric orthotic service supports children of all ages and abilities, from early walkers to active teens. Laura works with families, multidisciplinary therapists and schools, and also collaborates with consultants, physiotherapists and other health professionals involved in a person's care.

Appointments are offered in clinic and through home visits. Clinic locations include Worcester, Cirencester Abbey and Tewkesbury, and home visits are available over a wide area, including for children at home or school.
