Lisa Thompson / Women Are Amazing

Lisa Thompson provides pregnancy, infant feeding, postnatal and wellbeing support through Women Are Amazing in Caerphilly County Borough. She is a UK Registered Midwife, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, a Tongue Tie Practitioner, a Women’s Coach and Trainer, and offers holistic therapies including Spinal Flow and Reiki.

Her infant feeding work includes support for breast, chest and bottle feeding, including more complex feeding challenges such as slow weight gain, ongoing pain or discomfort, reflux symptoms, mastitis and pumping. Consultations can include a full oral assessment of function, particularly where tongue tie or oral restriction may be a factor. She takes a holistic approach to oral restrictions and states that frenulotomy should only be undertaken when necessary.

Antenatal support is available through 1:1 consultations, including time to discuss options, decisions and reliable information alongside the clinical care you are already receiving. Lisa also offers antenatal classes on preparing to breastfeed and the KGH Hypnobirthing course. She is able to issue a MAT B1 form during consultations where appropriate, but does not currently offer full clinical services or private intrapartum care.

Postnatal support includes home visits across the local area, office consultations and Zoom consultations. Appointments can cover feeding concerns, questions from the early days after birth, breastfeeding or chest feeding, formula feeding and responsive paced feeding. Ongoing support between infant feeding appointments is available by email or WhatsApp.

Lisa also offers Three Step Rewind for people, or their partners, carrying difficult feelings from a previous pregnancy, birth or postnatal experience. Sessions are available by Zoom or at home, with relaxation audios used between sessions. Her wellbeing appointments include relaxation, Spinal Flow and Reiki, and her coaching work covers balance, boundaries and self confidence.
