Loughshore Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy at Loughshore Physiotherapy is for injury, pain and soreness, with assessment and rehabilitation programmes for clients of all ages. The clinic treats lower back pain, mid back pain, neck pain, headaches, shoulder pain, elbow pain, wrist and hand pain, hip pain, knee pain, foot and ankle pain, plus post-operative and post-injection rehabilitation.

Physiotherapy care starts with a full assessment and analysis of symptoms or a condition, followed by a treatment plan discussed with the client. Treatment options can include joint mobilisation, soft tissue mobilisation, sports massage, acupuncture or dry needling, electrotherapy, postural education, work set-up education, physio-led Pilates education and progressive exercise programmes for use between or after sessions.

Podiatry is also available for foot and lower-limb problems. Clinic treatments include routine nail, corn and callus care, nail surgery for ingrown toenails, verruca treatment, diabetic foot care, fungal nail and athlete's foot care, gait analysis, orthotics prescription and alterations, plus advice for sports injuries, taping and footcare where appropriate.

Pilates is offered through physiotherapist-led classes and 1-2-1 rehab Pilates following discussion and assessment with a physiotherapist. The clinic uses Pilates for posture, strength, muscular endurance, balance, co-ordination, body awareness, flexibility and mobility.

Loughshore Physiotherapy is in Carrickfergus. Its physiotherapists are registered and chartered, and a GP or consultant referral is not needed before attending physiotherapy. The clinic is registered with Bupa, AXA, H3, WPA, Cigna, Vita Health, Vitality Health and Speed Medical.
