Maeve O'Donnell Acupuncture is for people seeking acupuncture in the Witney area. Maeve treats people suffering with pain and stress, using acupuncture and massage during the same treatment where appropriate. Bookable care includes an Initial consultation and first treatment for new clients, and a Standard Appointment for returning clients.

Her acupuncture work includes gentle acupuncture and at home acupuncture. Other therapies named by the practice include Chinese massage, cupping, electroacupuncture, moxibustion and microsystems. Maeve has studied both Swedish and Chinese massage, and also coaches clients in mindfulness and lifestyle, including healthy posture and exercise.

Maeve's postgraduate acupuncture studies include musculoskeletal acupuncture, fertility and gynaecology, oncology and palliative care acupuncture, and acupuncture for neurological disorders. In her palliative care nursing work, she also uses acupuncture for symptoms including cancer related pain and fatigue, nausea, digestive issues, anxiety and insomnia.

The first treatment starts with an in-depth consultation covering health concerns, the history and treatment of any specific conditions, overall health history, diet, lifestyle and work. If treatment goes ahead, an individual plan is drawn up with a suggested frequency of treatments and regular reviews.

Maeve qualified as a nurse in 1983, completed a psychology degree, and worked as a research nurse at the University of Oxford Department of Public Health for 14 years. She has been a qualified and registered acupuncturist since 1992. She is a full member of the Association of Acupuncture Clinicians and is also a member of the British Acupuncture Federation, the UK Toyohari Association, the British Medical Acupuncture Society, the Acupuncture Fertility Network and the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Care is provided in clinic, with home visits available within a 15 mile radius. Maeve also states that she can work flexible hours.
