The Parent and Baby Haven - Postnatal feeding & support group

Mothers Journey provides private independent midwifery care in South London. Care covers pregnancy, birth planning, antenatal and postnatal wellbeing, newborn feeding, tongue-tie and oral function assessment. The Parent and Baby Haven is used for a postnatal feeding and support group.

The practice is Leonie, a midwife, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, oral function specialist and Tongue-Tie Practitioner. Bookable care includes a 36 week birth planning appointment, a holistic antenatal or postnatal wellbeing check, and tongue-tie and infant feeding appointments at home or as part of a hybrid package.

Tongue-tie appointments look at a baby's feeding behaviours, oral anatomy, tongue function, positioning, attachment and wider clinical picture before any treatment is considered. Infant feeding support covers exclusive breastfeeding, combination feeding, expressing breast milk and formula feeding.

Leonie's qualifications and registrations include a Bachelor of Science with registration to practise in midwifery from King's College London, Nursing and Midwifery Council regulation, Royal College of Nursing membership, Royal College of Midwives membership, IBCLC accreditation, Association of Tongue Tie Practitioners registration, a KGHypnobirthing diploma, 3-Step Rewind Birth Trauma training and Care Quality Commission registration. Mothers Journey states that it is fully insured with indemnity and public liability insurance.

The wider associate network includes osteopaths, cranial osteopaths, craniosacral therapists, feeding support groups, tongue-tie specialists, massage, and a clinical specialist physiotherapist in pelvic health.
