Motion Chiropractic

Motion Chiropractic is a single-site McTimoney chiropractic clinic in Disley, Stockport. The clinic provides chiropractic consultations and follow-up care for the spine and musculoskeletal system, using gentle, low force McTimoney adjustments to joints and surrounding tissues.

New patient consultations include a full medical history, consent forms, any necessary vital signs, systems, neurological or orthopaedic testing, and an initial treatment if there is time and it is safe to do so. Separate initial consultations are available for adults, people over 65, and children over the age of 3 and under 18. Follow-up chiropractic appointments include re-evaluation of presenting symptoms, further testing where needed, chiropractic treatment if safe to do so, and continued review of the plan of care.

The clinic also offers a Spine Check for people who want to find out more about chiropractic care. This includes a short discussion about why the patient is interested in chiropractic, an initial check of spinal and pelvic alignment, and an overview of chiropractic care.

Sports massage appointments are available alongside chiropractic care. Massage techniques listed by the clinic include deep tissue, sports, Swedish, hot stones, myofascial and pregnancy massage. The clinic states that massage appointments are for soft tissue release and do not provide diagnosis of conditions or injuries.

Motion Chiropractic is run by Cathryn, a chiropractor who graduated with a 1st Class Masters in Chiropractic from the McTimoney College of Chiropractic. Before training as a chiropractor, she qualified and worked as a massage therapist, using sports and deep tissue massage, myofascial release, K-taping, lymphatic drainage, dry cupping, pregnancy massage and hot stone therapy.
