Osteopathic care is based on assessment of the body’s structure and function, including the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues. Treatment may include touch, physical manipulation, stretching and massage, alongside advice on posture and exercise. The clinician also uses tailored treatment and exercise prescription, and has completed further training in Kinesio-taping.

Clinical interests include musculo-skeletal problems, chronic injuries, work-related pain and dysfunction, and overuse and sports injuries. Parkhouse Osteopathy can also provide cover for sports teams or events by arrangement.

At a first visit, the osteopath discusses and records a detailed medical history before examination. Patients may be asked to remove some outer clothing for examination or treatment, and are advised to wear underwear, shorts or a sports bra they feel comfortable in. Further investigations may include an x-ray or blood test, and if further medical treatment is needed the osteopath may contact the patient’s doctor with permission.

Home visits are available, and the practice also operates as a flexible mobile service across a wide geographical area. The clinician graduated from Swansea University with a Masters degree in Osteopathy, M.Ost.
