Pulse Acupuncture

Female fertility acupuncture is a main focus at Pulse Acupuncture in Wimbledon, London. The practice provides acupuncture for female fertility, male fertility, women's health, pregnancy, pre-birth acupuncture, breech presentation, menopause, gynaecological and hormonal issues, and pre-embryo and post-embryo transfer consultations.

Treatment is provided at the clinic. Initial care includes a full case history, with questions about current symptoms, previous treatments or test results, medical history, sleep, diet, digestion and general health. An acupuncture treatment with fine needles is also carried out. Follow-up appointments involve acupuncture, with points chosen for the condition being treated.

Other techniques may be used as part of treatment. These include moxibustion, cupping, gua sha and electroacupuncture. Moxibustion is used to warm and stimulate acupuncture points and can be used in a breech baby consultation. Cupping is used where there are symptoms of stiffness, pain or viral infection. Gua sha is used where there is pain, stiffness and symptoms of cold and flu. Electroacupuncture is used when there is pain and in induction of labour.

Pulse Acupuncture's clinician trained at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, completing a licentiate and a BSc degree in acupuncture. Further study includes a Post Graduate Diploma in Gynaecology, Fertility and Obstetrics, and an Advanced Level Diploma covering reproductive immunology, hormonal issues, complex diseases in pregnancy and artificial reproductive techniques, including IVF.

The practice's clinical focus is women's health. The clinician also practised for four years as an associate at Hannah Pearn's Don't Tell Me to Relax fertility acupuncture clinic. She is fully insured, a member of the British Acupuncture Council and a member of the Acupuncture Fertility Network.
