Rowena Health is based in Guildford and operates from one site. It is a specialist menopause and women’s health clinic founded and led by Dr Carys Sonnenberg, with consultations available online across the UK.

The clinic provides one-to-one consultations for perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause symptoms. It also sees women with menopause following surgery or cancer treatment, early menopause, premature ovarian insufficiency, bladder and vaginal problems during menopause, PMS, contraceptive choices, and complex medical or gynaecology histories.

Care includes advice on hormone replacement therapy, HRT prescribing, HRT reviews and support where there are complications. Rowena Health also advises on non-hormonal treatments, testosterone prescribing and monitoring, complementary and alternative treatment options, and lifestyle measures including nutrition, sleep, stress, physical activity, weight management and mental health.

Before consultation, patients are sent a medical history and symptom chart questionnaire. The initial consultation covers symptoms, possible underlying causes and treatment options, with care described as following British Menopause Society and NICE guidelines. A treatment plan may include HRT, non-hormonal treatment, lifestyle changes, or additional investigations or assessment with other healthcare professionals where needed and agreed.

Dr Sonnenberg is a British Menopause Society registered menopause specialist and a BMS trained doctor in menopause and women’s health. Rowena Health also provides education for health professionals, businesses and charities, including a Women’s Health at Work Programme and talks, webinars and workshops on menopause, perimenopause, hormonal health, lifestyle, menopause in the workplace, menstrual problems, PMS, endometriosis, fibroids and PMOS.
