Serena Cooper Physiotherapy
About Serena Cooper Physiotherapy
Follow-up physiotherapy appointments at Serena Cooper Physiotherapy are for ongoing musculoskeletal care after assessment, including treatment progression and rehabilitation planning. The practice provides assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, with a specialist interest in back pain and lower-limb physiotherapy.
Serena Cooper treats acute injuries such as sprains, muscle strains, sports injuries and sudden-onset joint pain. She also works with chronic problems including persistent lower-back pain, long-term neck or shoulder issues and recurring joint discomfort. Lower-limb care includes knee pain, hip pain, foot and ankle problems and more complex cases involving the lower-limb quadrant.
Spinal physiotherapy covers mechanical back pain, neck pain, sciatica, nerve irritation and movement restrictions. Upper-limb work includes shoulder impingement, rotator cuff issues, elbow pain, and wrist or hand problems. The practice also provides sports physiotherapy, postural or movement-related pain care, rehabilitation after fractures, immobilisation or joint stiffness, and pre- and post-operative orthopaedic rehabilitation for hip, knee, foot, ankle and shoulder surgery pathways.
Care may include clear assessment, education and advice, manual therapy, soft tissue therapy techniques, and personalised exercise programmes with progression through rehabilitation. Bookable care includes initial assessment, initial consultation, follow-up physiotherapy, soft tissue therapy, and Aviva initial and follow-up appointments.
Serena completed a Master’s in Pre-Registration Physiotherapy at Southampton University in 2011, then worked at Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust, progressing from junior physiotherapist to advanced practice physiotherapist. During that time she developed skills in musculoskeletal assessment and triage, particularly complex back and radicular pain and lower-limb conditions. She has worked in private practice for the past four years and works with local orthopaedic surgeons for patients who need specialist opinion or surgical pathways.
The practice is based in Petworth, West Sussex. Home visits are offered for a few appointments in the local area. Patients do not need to see a GP before booking. Accessibility information notes that rural access routes may include uneven ground and that older listed buildings at Mill Yard cannot be fully adapted to modern accessibility standards.
