SEW Soft Tissue Therapy

SEW Soft Tissue Therapy is for people in Thirsk seeking soft tissue therapy, remedial massage, sports massage, deep tissue massage or kinesiology taping for musculoskeletal pain, muscle tension and minor or chronic injuries. Care is provided by Sarah Wilson, a Soft Tissue Therapist who assesses, treats and rehabilitates aches, pains and injuries using massage therapy and soft tissue techniques. Treatment may include remedial massage for acute or chronic pain or injury, sports massage for people training for events or taking part in sport, tension release deep tissue massage for tight or aching muscles, and kinesiology taping where required.

The conditions and concerns named by the practice include neck and shoulder pain, back pain, lower back pain, knee and hip pain, muscle tension, sports injuries, occupational injuries, headaches and migraines, carpal tunnel and wrist pain, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, sprains, strains, sciatica, piriformis pain, recovery after injury or surgery, fibromyalgia, ME, CFS, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, IBS and arthritis.

Soft tissue techniques used in treatment include Muscle Energy Techniques, Neuromuscular Techniques, Soft Tissue Release, Positional Release Techniques and Myofascial Release Techniques. Sarah may also provide remedial exercises, advice and guidance during or after treatment, including for chronic pain management, training for an event or releasing muscle tension.

Sarah trained with the London School of Sports Massage and Soft Tissue Therapy and holds the BTEC Level 5 Professional Diploma LSSM(Dip) in Soft Tissue Therapy. She is a member of the Institute of Soft Tissue Therapists and is a certified RockDoc after completing the Advanced RockTape Kinesiology Taping course.

Treatment takes place at a home-based clinic in Thirsk, with free driveway parking. The clinic is up one flight of stairs. Patients are asked to complete a medical form before their appointment, and payment is by card at the start of treatment.
