Stride Podiatry

Stride Podiatry provides podiatry care for lower limb and foot problems in Liverpool, including Routine Podiatry, Assessment, Verrutop Application, Nail Surgery, Swift Microwave and Nail reconstruction appointments. Care includes assessment of foot concerns, treatment planning and procedures for nails, hard skin, corns, cracked heels, verrucae and fungal nails.

Assessment appointments include a full medical history and compulsory foot checks, including vascular and neurological testing. The podiatrist then discusses the foot problem and forms a treatment plan.

Routine Podiatry covers nail cutting and filing, treatment of problematic nails, reduction of hard skin, cracked heels and corns, and emollient application. Fungal nail care starts with an initial consultation, with treatment planning based on the severity of the infection.

For verrucae, Stride Podiatry offers Verrutop Application and Swift Microwave. Verrutop is used for verruca treatment and works by denaturing viral protein and drying the wart tissue, rather than burning or freezing. Swift Microwave uses microwave energy to produce rapid heat in the verruca and trigger an immune response.

Nail Surgery is carried out under local anaesthetic, with the affected toe numbed before part or all of the nail is removed. A chemical is then applied to the treated nail area, with aftercare advice and check-up appointments discussed on the day of surgery. Nail reconstruction involves removing damaged or infected nail plate and applying Pedisafe product to create a new nail plate, and it can be used alongside fungal nail treatments.

Susan, the lead podiatrist, qualified from Salford University in 2011. She has worked in the NHS as a Diabetic Specialist Podiatrist and has also worked in private practice care for many years. Stride Podiatry says its podiatrists are BSc (Hons) qualified and registered with the HCPC, with ongoing CPD.
