The Foot Fella

Initial routine podiatry appointments at The Foot Fella are for general foot care, including toenail cutting and filing, removal of hard skin and corns, and concerns such as ingrown toenails or fungal issues. Return routine appointments are available for ongoing podiatry care.

The practice treats ingrown toenails through new patient and returning patient appointments, and also provides nail surgery where part or all of a toenail may be removed. The service may include Partial Nail Avulsion or Total Nail Avulsion, and Phenol may be used to help prevent regrowth of the removed nail portion. Patients have a consultation and health evaluation before the procedure, with aftercare discussed as part of the appointment.

Verruca care includes assessment and topical treatment, cryotherapy, cryotherapy follow-up and verruca needling, also called Faulkner's procedure. The practice also describes Verrutop, salicylic acid treatment, monitoring over time and occlusal taping as verruca treatment options. These treatments are used for plantar warts on the feet, with the choice of treatment depending on the verruca and the patient.

For foot pain that is not related to skin or nail problems, The Foot Fella provides musculoskeletal assessment of the feet and lower limbs using Footscan® Dynamic Plate technology. The assessment may include a history of symptoms, footwear review, posture checks, joint movement, muscle strength and foot shape, followed by discussion of treatment options such as orthotics, rehabilitation exercises, footwear advice, pain relief options, mobilisation techniques, strapping and taping.

Other podiatry services named by the practice include corticosteroid injections, a nail fungal service, diabetic footcare, neurovascular assessment and antibiotics. The clinic is in Brentwood and has a waiting room, with free parking outside.
