The Old Stables

The Old Stables is a purpose-built clinic near Wellington, Somerset, offering chiropody, podiatry and osteopathy. Appointments on this page cover foot care, foot health concerns and musculoskeletal osteopathy.

The clinic treats problematic nails, including thickened, discoloured, fungal or bacterial nails, nails that are difficult to cut, and ingrown toenails. Foot health care includes athlete's foot, sores, wounds and hard skin problems, with advice on future foot care where appropriate. GP referrals are accepted, and patients can also attend without a GP referral.

Paola Fletcher is an HCPC registered chiropodist and podiatrist, and a member of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists. She qualified as a podiatrist from Southampton University in 2000, then worked in the NHS in Gloucestershire and Somerset. Her experience includes diabetes, rheumatology, wound care, nail surgery, chiropody, assessment clinics, triage, student training, hospital work, community settings and domiciliary wound care. Her podiatry interests include nail care, general foot health and associated foot problems, and her patients range from young children to older adults.

Foot health practitioner appointments and home visits are available with Fiona Green. The osteopathy service covers musculoskeletal conditions including osteoarthritis, sciatica, long-term lower back pain, sprains and strains, headaches, and pelvic girdle pain in pregnancy. Specialist paediatric osteopathy is available for children and babies, and the osteopathy service also includes women's health and pelvic health, including symptoms related to pregnancy and childbirth, incontinence and prolapse symptoms.

Nutritional therapy is also offered at The Old Stables. This uses naturopathic nutritional therapy and a functional medicine approach, looking at nutrition, lifestyle and environmental factors. Initial consultations are in person, with plan review available by Zoom or in clinic.
