Aviation medicals are the main focus at The Private GP Group's New Malden clinic, through Groves Aviation. The service covers CAA medicals for pilots, drone pilots, light aircraft pilots, hot air balloon pilots and cabin crew.

Named aviation medicals include Class 1 Medical renewal and revalidation, Class 2 Medical initial, renewal and revalidation, Class 2 Medical for drone pilots, Class 3 Medical initial, renewal and revalidation, LAPL Medical, Hot Air Balloon Medical and CAA Cabin Crew Medical.

Additional aviation-related services include Aviation Telephone Consultation, ECG, audiogram, spirometry, haemoglobin testing and lipid profile. The clinic also lists routine fit or unfit casework, referral letters, correspondence with the licensing authority, and intermediate to complex medical reports or casework.

For pilot medicals, applicants must have a CAA portal account and apply for the medical on CELLMA at least 10 days before the appointment. Patients are asked to bring photo ID, relevant medical history, glasses or contact lenses if worn, and an up-to-date opticians report where applicable. A urine sample is requested on arrival.

The medical preparation guidance also covers corrective eye surgery. If LASIK or other corrective eye surgery has been carried out, an ophthalmic report from the surgery centre is needed, including the dates and type of surgery, pre-operative refraction, and details of any complications or a statement that none occurred. Medicals can be revalidated from 45 days before expiry.
