Total Osteopathy

Osteopathy treatment at Total Osteopathy is for pain, injury and movement problems, including back and neck pain, sports injuries, arthritis and pregnancy-related discomfort. Appointments take place at Pure Treatment Rooms in Harrogate town centre, with care for patients of all ages, from babies to older adults.

The clinic treats back pain including lumbago and sciatica, headaches and migraine, knee, hip, foot and ankle pain, neck pain and stiffness, tennis elbow and golfer's elbow, arthritis, and hand, wrist and shoulder pain including frozen shoulder. Patients also attend for pregnancy and postnatal pain, baby and paediatric osteopathy, circulatory issues, digestive problems, neuralgia and sleep difficulties.

Treatment may include hands-on osteopathic techniques such as mobilising, manipulating, massage and stretching of tissues and joints. Your first treatment includes discussion of your condition or injury, followed by assessment of posture, muscles, joints and soft tissues. Treatment may involve stretching, moving and mobilising, and medical acupuncture may be used if appropriate.

Stephanie O'Grady is a fully qualified osteopath registered with the General Osteopathic Council. She initially studied genetics at Leeds University before retraining as an osteopath, and has worked in clinics in London, Hertfordshire and Harrogate, including specialist orthotic and paediatric clinics.

Her clinical interests and training include medical acupuncture, cranial and structural osteopathic techniques, treatment for pre- and post-partum mothers and babies, baby and paediatric osteopathy, and sports injury treatment with rehabilitation and exercise advice. Postural, exercise and dietary advice may also be offered alongside hands-on treatment.

You do not need a doctor's referral before having treatment. Many private health insurers cover treatment costs, and receipts can be provided for insurance claims.
