Valley Footworks has one podiatry and chiropody clinic in Stocksbridge, Sheffield. It provides foot care for nail cutting, ingrowing nails, fungal nails, painful callus and corns, verrucas and painful feet.

General routine podiatry and chiropody appointments include a full assessment covering medical history, vascular assessment and neurological assessment, followed by routine treatment where appropriate. Routine care includes toenail cutting and filing, removal of corns and callus, reduction of thickened and fungal nails, and treatment of ingrowing toenails.

Diabetic foot checks assess foot health, neurological and vascular status, and risk level for foot complications. A diabetic foot check is included in the initial consultation, and a copy of the assessment can be sent to the patient's GP.

The clinic also provides biomechanical assessment and orthotic therapy for pain in the heel, foot, ankle and lower leg. Conditions named by the clinic include plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, Morton's neuroma, shin splints, metatarsalgia and bunions, also described as hallux abducto valgus. Orthotics can be prescribed according to foot characteristics.

Fungal nail testing is available using Diafactory testing for suspected onychomycosis, with discussion of treatment options for nail infection and associated fungal skin infection, tinea pedis. Verruca treatment options include silver nitrate, salicylic acid and cryotherapy, following assessment for suitability.

Nail surgery is offered as total or partial nail avulsion for chronic ingrowing toenails, and for painful fungal or unsightly nails. A pre-surgery assessment is carried out before surgery is booked, and the nail is removed under local anaesthetic. Patients can opt for phenol to chemically cauterise the nail matrix. The clinic's podiatrists are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and are members of the Institute of Podiatrists.
