Yi Acupuncture

An initial session at Yi Acupuncture is for assessing the main complaint, general health and medical history before treatment. Yi-chun Sung, also known as Fiona, checks the tongue and pulse, and physical examinations may be involved. Follow-up sessions continue the agreed treatment plan, and a package of follow-up sessions is also available.

Yi Acupuncture provides acupuncture in Sutton for pain management, women’s health, and emotion and wellness concerns. Pain management areas named by the clinic include headache, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, lower back pain, sciatica, sacroiliitis, IT band syndrome, plantar fasciitis, sports injury and numbness.

Women’s health work includes pre-menstrual syndrome, period pain, irregular periods, amenorrhoea, menopause, fertility and IVF support, pregnancy support and postpartum care. Emotion and wellness areas include stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia, fatigue, acid reflux, stomach ache, diarrhoea, constipation, palpitation, hypertension, dizziness and tinnitus.

Treatment may include needling, with auxiliary techniques used where suitable. These can include moxibustion or moxa, heat lamp, electro-acupuncture, guasha and cupping. The treatment plan is discussed before treatment.

Yi is a fully qualified and licensed acupuncturist and a member of the British Acupuncture Council. She was awarded a licentiate with First-Class Honours at The City College of Acupuncture, which is accredited by The British Acupuncture Accreditation Board. Her acupuncture training included degree-level acupuncture study and clinical hours, and she undertakes Continuing Professional Development training.
