Private dental therapists in Wales

Pick a dental therapist from the list above, then choose a day from their availability. Where a practice has connected its booking system to Quokka you complete the booking here. Otherwise we pass you through to the practice's own booking page to confirm the appointment — either way you have chosen a named dental therapist in Wales before you get there.

Every dental therapist listed shows a fortnight of availability, so you can see which days have appointments before you click through. Clinics in Wales often have same-week appointments, and where a clinician's next free slot falls beyond the fortnight we show that date instead.

Quokka currently lists 2 private dental therapists across 2 clinics in Wales. That is the number with a live listing today, each shown by name with their own availability, and it changes as clinics are added.

Fees are set by each practice, not by Quokka. Where a clinic publishes its prices we show them on the listing so you can compare dental therapists in Wales before booking. Prices vary with appointment length and with the individual clinician, and a first appointment is often longer and dearer than a follow-up.

Usually not — most private dental therapists accept self-referral, so you can book directly. Some treatments need a referral first, and if you are claiming on private medical insurance your insurer will normally want one. Check with the clinic if you are not sure.

Some can. The availability shown against each dental therapist covers every day of the fortnight, weekends included, so you can see at a glance which dental therapists in Wales have Saturday or Sunday appointments. Evening opening varies by clinic — the practice's own booking page shows the exact times on any given day.

Availability is read automatically from each practice's own booking system and refreshed through the day, so it can be a few hours old. On listings a practice has not yet claimed, Quokka cannot confirm the times — treat them as indicative, and the practice's own booking page as the final word on what is free.

Clinics carrying out regulated activities must register with the Care Quality Commission, and where we can match a practice to its CQC registration we show the rating alongside the date it was inspected. Not every kind of private clinic is CQC-registered, so an absent rating does not mean a clinic is unregulated. Individual dental therapists are also registered with their own professional body, which you can check by name.

Yes. Quokka lists dental therapists in Wales individually — by name, with their clinic, their qualifications and their own availability — so you are choosing a particular dental therapist rather than taking whichever appointment a practice offers next.
