Gidea Park Physiotherapy
About Gidea Park Physiotherapy
Gidea Park Physiotherapy provides private physiotherapy for musculoskeletal problems, sports injuries and persistent body pain. Initial assessment and treatment is for a first physiotherapy consultation, with a review of medical history, current symptoms and treatment objectives, followed by examination and an explanation of the likely diagnosis or reason for the problem. Treatment may include hands-on therapy, movement correction and focused exercises. Review and treatment appointments assess progress, address questions and may include targeted exercises, manual therapy, self-management techniques and changes to the treatment plan.
The clinic treats all major joints and a wide range of common conditions, including sports injuries, osteoarthritis, tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, frozen shoulder, chronic pain, knee pain, foot and ankle pain, elbow pain, plantar fasciitis, back pain, shoulder pain, nerve pain, tendinopathies, whiplash, neck pain, hip pain, migraine and tension headaches, stress-related conditions, and pre and post surgical problems.
Care also includes shockwave therapy as an addition to standard physiotherapy. For persistent low back pain, the clinic uses a Cognitive Functional Therapy approach, looking at physical factors such as movement, posture and conditioning, psychological factors such as thoughts, emotions and beliefs, and social factors such as work, relationships and stress. This can include individualised assessment, cognitive reframing, functional movement retraining, and guidance on sleep, activity, work, stress and social engagement.
Gidea Park Physiotherapy is the private physiotherapy clinic of George Michaelides, with almost 20 years of physiotherapy experience. The physiotherapist is registered with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the Health and Care Professions Council.
