Getting started

List your practice

Create your account, tell us what kind of clinicians you have, and connect Stripe so you can be paid. Around ten minutes, and nothing is visible to patients until you are ready.

Listing your practice takes about ten minutes of typing and one wait — Stripe checking your business details. Nothing you do here is visible to patients until your listing goes live.

Create your account

You need a practice name, an email address and a password. The email address becomes the login for your portal, and it is where booking notifications go — use one somebody reads.

Work through the checklist

Your portal opens on a list of eight things to finish before you can go live. They can be done in any order, and the ones that matter most are done for you if you connect your practice management system.

Task What it is for
Select practitioner types Decides which searches you appear in — a GP practice appears under GP, not physiotherapy
Connect your practice system Brings your locations, clinicians, services and live availability across
Complete practice details The description patients read, and a phone number
Add your first location Where patients are seen. Comes from your system if you connect one
Review clinicians Check who is bookable, and what each of them is
Set up appointment types Match your services to the categories patients search by
Connect Stripe for payments So patients can pay when they book

Tip

Connect your practice management system early. It fills in locations, clinicians and services on its own, which is four of the eight tasks — see Connect Cliniko.

Choose your practitioner types

This is the one thing nobody else can tell us. Patients search by the kind of clinician they need, so a practice with no type selected cannot be found by anybody — a GP practice picks General practitioner, a physiotherapy clinic picks Physiotherapist, and a practice with both picks both.

Set up payments

Patients pay when they book, through Stripe. You connect a Stripe account — or create one during the flow — and Stripe verifies your business details itself before any money moves. That check is the only part of listing a practice that is not instant.

See Set up Stripe to take payments for what Stripe asks for and when the money reaches you.

Then what

Once your clinicians, services and payments are in place, your listing can go live: your practice appears in search, patients see real appointment times, and bookings arrive in your own diary.

If you connected a practice management system, keep working in it exactly as you do now — we read availability from it and write bookings back to it.
